PROPHESIES  World events are not accidental. We can see God's hand behind everything.   Lesson 5  Israel - Babylonian Exile  Portion to Read : 2 Chro  36: 5- 23 , 2 King 24 - 25 , Jere 52 Memory Verse : Isiah 1 : 18 -20 Objective :       To understand that is cursed to live away from God, and it is more blessed to repent and return to God. What was the main sin of  Israel that let to their exile: (2 King 17 : 8, 18 : 2). Israel's capital Samaria, was attacked many tines by Assyrian kings Pul  Tiglath-Pileser and Shalmaneser between BC 734 and 721 and were taken captives to Assyria (2 Kings 15 - 19 , 29, 17: 3- 6, 18: 9 - 12). There is no historical evidence that they ever returned to their land. Judah, which had to capital in Jerusalem, was also attacked by the Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar between BC 606 and 586, and taken as captives to Babylon, in 3 trips.  Lesson 4  KINGS AFTER THE DIVISION  Portion to read: 2 Chro. 12 - 26, 1 Kings 12 -22, 2 Kings 1 -25 Memory Verse: Psalm 2: 10 -12 Objective: To understand from the history of various kings that God honors those who honor Him and despises those who desire Him.  THE DIVISION  Though King Solomon was wise and blessed, having wealth and fame, unrest was also constantly increasing. Solomon imposed more taxes and worked on people to increase his personal comfort. From the time of Joshua, the tribe of Ephraim was at the forefront, leading Israel. But when David became the Kin, the tribe of Judah became the leader. So naturally, Ephraimites grow jealous against the tribe of Judah, and the enmity grew all the way.    Lesson 3  Solomon   Portion to read: 1 King 1 - 11, 2 Chron. 1 -9  Memory Verse: 2 Chro. 7: 14 Introduction: What are the things that give happiness to man/woman?  Don't men/women desire power, honor, riches, wisdom, etc.? But none of this can give us internal satisfaction. Who is known as the wisest of the Wisemen? Who was his father? Who was his mother?  In his last days, King David appointed Solomon, his son in Bathsheba, as his successor. But Adonijah, his other son, tried to sit on the throne but could not succeed. Therefore we should serve His in all circumstances with humility and faithfulness. INTRODUCTION: God's will was that Israel should be His own people and Himself should be their King. God himself led them in the wilderness and in the conquest of Canaan. After settling in Canaan, Israel had to face the attacks of neighboring Kings. God raised Judges to help Israel.  Lesson 1 JUDGES The portion to Read : Book of Judges  Memory Verse: 1 Sam 7:12 Objective: God will never leave sin unpunished. But he who cries to God for forgiveness will be received and redeemed. Believers should not yoke themselves with unbelievers. Who were the Judges?         Judges were men or women raised by God from Israel to save them from their enemies and judge them. The period of Judges was about 2000 years between the death of Joshua and the first king Saul. Between 2000 years, 15 judges were appointed by God. Among them, the history of 13 is given in the book of Judges, and that of the other 2 is given in the first chapters of 1Samuel.
